B.E. Meyers: GLARE RECOIL

B.E. Meyers Awarded Sole Source Contract by U.S. Marine Corps for Ocular Interruption System February 10, 2016 (Redmond, WA) – Marine Corps Systems Command has selected B.E. Meyers & Co. as their sole source for the Ocular Interruption Program. The GLARE® RECOIL employs a dazzling laser to hail and warn potential threats while implementing escalation of force procedures. Commanders have a single, non-lethal hail and warning capable device to use across the range of Marine Corp military operations. The GLARE® RECOIL represents the culmination of a decade of technological development used to create the safest and most effective ocular interruption laser in the world. The GLARE® RECOIL features pioneering EyeSafe® technology with the latest advancements in automatic power control. The GLARE® RECOIL uses a 250mW maximum output power source, while its safety control design establishes the laser safety classification as a 2M laser system by using a Laser Range Finder (LRF), Near Field Detector (NFD), and 3-axis Gyroscope. This approach to laser safety in an ocular interruption device is unique to the B.E. Meyers design. The green beam is always effectively regulated by SmartRange™ technology and eye safety is sustained through controlling the maximum permissible exposure (MPE) on target. “We

Porn Industry Chooses Magpul M-LOK

This seems to be a current hot debate: Magpul M-LOK - Modular Locking accessory mounting system VERSUS Bravo Company KMR - KeyMod Rail system The science is fairly straightforward...M-LOK has more surface area, thicker edges (no 100 degree cone cut) so more material behind the slots, flat on flat engagement, and all the things discussed in the M-LOK FAQ on the Magpul website. KeyMod was an evolutionary step into negative space attachments, or at least a slight change of AI KeySlot, but just wasn't designed by an engineer or with engineering behind it with all of the material considerations in play. Some folks are happy with KeyMod mounting lightweight accessories without much abuse, and that's cool. Heavier stuff, high round counts, and generally treating the rifle like a tool ends up being really, really hard on KeyMod, and things can get loose, seats creep and crush, etc. The pullout, drop, high round count firing, shaker table, leveraged pullout, etc testing of initially KeyMod, and then KeyMod vs M-LOK was what led down the path to release M-LOK in the first place. Colt CA and other MFG have done their own evaluations, and that's why you saw a lot more

Just as good as…

No not everyone can build an AR. Stick with a known quantity. Today I had a student who's carbine was experiencing both timing issues and failures to eject (stove pipes) consistently. It was a tell tale over gassed carbine with a weak extractor. I passed him my SBR to let him finish the day and went to work on his carbine. Now to his rifle. The extractor was weeeak. I could fully depress the tail with finger pressure. The claw was sharp so I upgraded the springs, functions checked it, and went to test fire. Bang Bang Bang Choke.... The gun still ejected at 1-130 and eventually the round wouldn't clear the port on the back stroke. The bolt velocity being high, would catch the case head and trap it in the forward edge of the ejection port, with a partially striped live round. I went back to the bench and pulled the buffer. The 16" gun came with a std carbine buffer. I pull it and compare it to a spare H buffer in my kit. His buffer was noticeably lighter, so I installed the H buffer. Test fire. The gun cycled nearly through an entire mag of m855,
