Carbine and Rifle Show Off Thread!

Fury end cap removed and replaced with a legacy UTL tailcap. The cable was cut and spliced to a new surefire tape switch with the constant on button. The cable was heat wrapped to ensure its waterproof. The light is offset at the 2:00 with a VTAC mounted on the rail at 12:00.

I need a now pro offset mount for the scout that tucks the light to the Rail but does NOT push it forward. If anything I'd like to see a mount that shifts the light backwards. I like the lamp as far away from the muzzle as possible without totally obscuring the light pattern.

Roland- This company makes low pro mounts. Any of these fit your needs?

Thats a 231 port gun

It's always nice to see a collection of logically assembled rifles.
Did you do the paint yourself?

BCM Upper Receiver Group: 14.5" ELW-F Middie w/ Pinned+Welded Gunfighter Comp MOD 1, BCM KMR13, BCM Gunfighter Vertical Grip - Short
BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 Charging Handle
BCM Keymod QD Sling Mount
BCM Lower Receiver Group: Geissele SD-C, BCM Gunfighter Grip Mod 3, Magpul Trigger Guard and ASAP-QD Endplate
B5 Systems Enhanced SOPMOD
Aimpoint T-2 on a Larue LT751
SureFire M600P on a Haley Strategic Thorntail
Magpul MBUS Pro Iron Sights

I'm not a fan of the Haley Strategic Thorntail mount, but it does the job. I'd like to switch to an Arisaka Inline Scout Mount.

Yes, I did the paint myself with stencils I cut from plastic sheets.

  • Aervoe 1082 Light Sand
  • Aervoe 968 Field Drab
  • Aervoe 951 Light Green
  • Aervoe 952 Dark Green
  • Krylon 4292 Brown
Edit: Here's my more detailed write up: Rattle can paint jobs

BCM Stock
BCM Pistol Grip
Larue Rail Clips
T2 w/ Larue Mount
Troy Iron Sights
Tango Down VG
Streamlight HL (600 Lumen long gun kit)

Gun is unloaded (empty mag for photo) and hammer is down, hence the safety being where it is.

This is a work gun - I've been very happy with it.

sorry for the repost - my other one has broken image links.

My Noveske N4 14.5 Afghan SS with switchblock.
SSA-E trigger, JP silent captured spring, vtac two point sling, gunfighter ch, UBR stock, TA-31, MBUS PRO offsets, m600 Scout, ancient surefire mb556 brake (soon to be replaced with a socom series muzzle device for my incoming RC2), the rail is an SWS I had slimmed down by a machinist, K2 grip.
It's been boringly reliable with all manner of ammo.

BCM 14.5 M4A1 upper pinned and welded with A2x
-KAC M4 RAS (probably going to get replaced by a DD free float 7 inch rail)
-TA01 NSN ACOG in Larue Mount
-KAC flip up rear
-Surefire P2x Fury in VTAC Mount
-BCM Gunfighter Foregrip

BCM Blem Lower
-BCM Gunfighter Stock
-Magpul MOE Grip
-Geissele SSA Trigger
-Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling

My previous carbines have all had midlength gas systems with intermediate rails, as is the current fashion. However, I built this originally to be a throwback/deployment piece, and I've found that I am so familiar with the carbine length rails and etc... that I honestly prefer them. The initial thoughts on this rifle was to build an M4 clone, only do everything I could to make it better, (IE geissele trigger, larue mount, furniture, etc...). The only things I am considering changing are a KRAMS adapter, swapping the fury out with something a little lighter possibly, replacing the KAC RAS with one of the drop in Daniel Defense free floats, and adding a heavier butt stock for balance, maybe a B5 or similar. The BCM is almost TOO light.

IkeinTexas - whats that handstop on that geissle rail?

It's the B5 Systems Grip Stop K but the "universal mounting hardware" that ships with it is worthless on M-LOK rails, so I used some M-LOK nuts and screws from a Magpul rail section and i'ts good to go.
