Technically still a pistol until I form 1 it.
Upper is a Colt 6933, but added a Centurion arms mlok hand guard
Lower is an LMT Mars-L with a Geissele S3G.
Finally got this put together. SOLGW 13.7 with A5 buffer. All SOLGW except trigger, which is ALG QMS. Vortex PST 1x6 Gen 2 , Modlite OKW and Proctor sling. It shoots really really nice.
Duracoat matte OD Green and Brown rattle cans. Everybody is doing tan...so figured I'd buck the trend a bit since I'm in a NA wooded area.
6.8 SPC II Upper Build Notes:
Daniels Defense 16" 5R 1:11 SPC II S2W HF CL barrel, dimpled for gas block alignment
15" JL Billet Nano Ultra AZ61A Magnesium Alloy I modified for better IR consistency. The ultra light handguard off-sets the weight of the DD S2W barrel as its a modified H-bar profile, shoots like an H-bar, handles like a URG-I.
Upper is just a poverty pony Anderson Mil-Spec, Cerro Forged 7075 if anyone cares
Upper is squared and barrel bedded with Rocksett, barrel nut torqued to 55 ft-lbs
JP SCS buffer with 85% Black Spring (default), 1 Tungsten / 2 Steel weight (3.8oz)
Lower is just an old Adams Arms mil-spec I've had for nearly a decade, has over 10k rounds through it.
ASC 25rd mags with modified Magpods or Gen 2 PMags with Magpods (I like them on my 5.56 mags, so ported the design over to the ASC's)
Also have a Harris S-BRM bi-pod that I share between them
Without getting into caliber arguments, I have attached the reports I have used as precedent for the 6.8 SPC / 5.56 Modified Upper Receiver Group concept (MURG), which I will let speak for themselves. The two uppers have slightly different focuses, with the 68 upper being more akin to an overmatch M27 IAR concept (sans full auto) and the 556 upper being more akin to a RECCE rifle concept which can also serve as my training upper or ammunition cross-compatibility upper.
