Its not the "discrete" rectangular rifle case that so many sell that still is a rifle case. Its a bag that doesn't scream gun, it can say skate board, guitar, hunting, hiking, etc.

There are also various options such as a Guitar Bag, Baseball Bag, Tennis Racket Bag, etc.

I have seen use of a Timbuk2 XL messenger bag with a SBR'd AK w/ folding stock, Osprey Pack with 8" SBR and ultra compact stock from LWRC as well.

I know some of you have developed other low profile ways of carrying boomsticks into public places. If you know of any or care to add, please do. It took me a while to find the various options listed above as there wasn't a centralized list at the time.

I really like that Osprey bag, but it appears to be the smaller of several sizes of the "Manta" line. http://www.rei.com/product/856583/osprey-momentum-30-bike-pack

Don't know if the Manta 30 is any taller or if it just has more room...need to see if REI has any next time I'm in ATL.

Anyone had any luck making their own "form sheets" with kydex or other materials?

I can't seem to upload the photo. But I use a bostitch tool box. It has a water seal all around it. It fits my 14.5" side folder AK great. It would fit my 16 arsenal if it wasn't for the huge muzzle device. It fits a broke down 16" AR And a chest rig and med gear. It makes life easy to take my guns in and out of my appt.

I did a bag with Mayflower... Rectangular, though small, as well as it folds out to a work station. Was intended to be a AFO styled bag for weapon, or camera/tripod, or commo.

No, but I have 2 I don't use since I got the Sert case. The Larue ones are bulkier than I needed for "just a carbine". If you wanted to fit a carbine/pistol/mags/holster/whatever, the LaRue ones are great.

I don't have one of these now, but have seen them in person and am leaning hard towards grabbing one of each to replace all the other bags and cases I have now. The two primary I use now are an old Eagle discreet/LE in blue and a Sneaky Bag, both of which have worked great, I just prefer some of the features, and the uniformity of having both, of the two 5.11 bags.

The Eberlestock Secret Weapon was my Christmas present to myself when I found a Cyber Monday deal last November. It's been on a couple of trips since then. It seems to do the job.

My SCAR 17 with stock folded is about a quarter inch too long to fully close the zippers. My guess is the SCAR 16 with the slightly shorter brake/FH will fit.
My Steyr AUG fits with maybe two inches to spare.

Since the rifle is just dropped in the gun compartment with only the muzzle strap across, it looks it would slide around and flop from side to side. They don't. They stay in place really well, whether wearing it as a pack or tossing it around as a gun case.

With the waist belt attached, it's a little clumsy as a gun case. It comes off easily enough, though.

I think I was finding new zippers and compartments for a month after getting it.

It doesn't look big enough in any of the compartments to carry a rifle.

I was under the impression the main compartment was 21"... Maybe I misunderstood the design
