Håkan Spuhr is a Swedish gunsmith, firearms designer, inventor, and founder of Spuhr i Dalby AB. He is best known for developing advanced optic-mounting systems and modernization components for military, law-enforcement, competitive, hunting, and precision-rifle applications.

Spuhr founded Spuhr i Dalby AB in 2007 after earlier design work involving mounting solutions for Aimpoint, including the TwistMount and MPS mount. His later products continued the same practical engineering approach: identify a limitation, reduce unnecessary complexity, build for durability, and evaluate the result as part of a complete weapon system.
His background as a gunsmith shaped an application-focused design philosophy. Rather than treating a mount, stock, optic, or accessory as an isolated object, Spuhr considers how each component affects the rifle, shooter, supporting equipment, and intended task.
Ideal Scope Mount System
Spuhr’s most recognized contribution is the Ideal Scope Mount System, commonly known as ISMS. The design treats the optic mount as part of the rifle’s equipment architecture rather than simply a pair of rings holding a scope.
Integrated interfaces allow users to attach levels, data holders, secondary sights, laser or illumination equipment, and other mission-specific accessories in consistent positions. This approach can reduce the number of separate mounting interfaces while improving alignment, repeatability, usable rail space, and equipment organization.
