Professional Biography
Matthew “Matt” Meyers is the CEO and second-generation owner of B.E. Meyers & Co., a veteran-operated American defense manufacturer specializing in advanced photonics, laser aiming and illumination systems, and related technology for military, law-enforcement, aerospace, and commercial applications.
Meyers graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 2001 with a degree in International Studies and was commissioned as a U.S. Army infantry officer. His military service included deployments to Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. In Iraq, he served with 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division in mechanized-infantry leadership and support assignments. He later worked with an Embedded Training Team in Afghanistan, advising Afghan police and military organizations.
During his deployments, Meyers used B.E. Meyers laser systems in operational conditions. That experience gave him a direct understanding of the demands placed on night-fighting equipment and later informed his approach to product development, manufacturing, and company leadership.
After returning to B.E. Meyers, he helped guide the company through a changing defense market and a renewed focus on specialized photonic systems. He was named president in 2016 and later became CEO. Under his leadership, the company has continued developing systems including the MAWL, KIJI, and DAGIR product families.
In June 2026, B.E. Meyers announced a U.S. Army contract for 8,936 DAGIR-V1 systems scheduled for delivery in fiscal year 2027. The announcement identified Meyers as CEO and second-generation owner and described the company’s continuing work in advanced infrared and visible aiming and illumination technology.
Meyers’ career connects infantry leadership, military advising, operational equipment use, engineering feedback, defense manufacturing, and executive decision-making.
