Professional Biography
Tiffany Johnson is an attorney, firearms instructor, Rangemaster Master Instructor, instructor trainer, and legal educator. She teaches through Citizens Safety Academy and has contributed to Rangemaster and the Rangemaster Tactical Conference through instruction, communications, and event support.
Johnson did not grow up around firearms. After violence—including the murder of a close friend during a home invasion—shaped her perception of guns, she chose to confront her fear through education. She began as an apprehensive student at Rangemaster in Memphis, progressed into instructor development, and has taught firearms and personal-safety material for more than two decades.
Firearms and Legal Education
Johnson holds advanced Rangemaster credentials, including Master Instructor and Defensive Shotgun Instructor certifications. Her professional development also includes deadly-force education through the Massad Ayoob Group and other national training programs.
Her legal background gives her a useful perspective on defensive training. Technical gun handling cannot be separated from judgment, lawful decision-making, communication, and the consequences that follow the use of force. Johnson helps students and instructors understand those subjects without presenting legal education as a substitute for advice concerning a particular case.
Gateway Instruction and Communication
Johnson’s early discomfort with firearms became an instructional advantage. She remembers what it is like to enter a class without the vocabulary, confidence, or cultural familiarity many experienced shooters take for granted. Citizens Safety Academy uses that perspective to create a genuine entry point for newer students without reducing safety or performance expectations.
Through Front Sight Press, Johnson has also helped instructors and organizations improve websites, presentations, educational materials, branding, and public communication. This work reflects an often-overlooked part of professional instruction: valuable information must be organized and communicated well enough for students to understand and use it.
