Professional Biography
Chris Sizelove is the founder of Cohort, a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant, former 75th Ranger Regiment senior noncommissioned officer, and professional firearms and tactics instructor. His career has centered on translating operational experience into training for military, law-enforcement, and civilian students.
Sizelove entered the Army in 1999 and spent more than 16 years in the 75th Ranger Regiment, serving across its 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Battalions. His roles progressed from rifleman, machine gunner, sniper, and breacher through team and platoon leadership. He served as an Assault Platoon Sergeant, Battalion Reconnaissance Platoon Sergeant, Pre-Ranger instructor, and Regimental Master Breacher.
Those assignments placed him at the intersection of individual skill, team performance, institutional training, and technical specialization. Sizelove was exposed to the professional firearms-training community in Arizona before his Army career. Following military retirement, Sizelove joined Forge Tactical as a principal instructor and breaching program manager. He later served as director of training at Blue Force Gear, where he developed and delivered instruction while helping use the Joint Training Facility as both a professional training venue and an environment for evaluating equipment under realistic conditions.
He subsequently founded Cohort, which operates the Joint Training Facility near Savannah, Georgia. The modular facility supports firearms, close-quarters, low-light, force-on-force, and team training for military, law-enforcement, and civilian clients. Configurable walls, realistic doors, variable lighting, furniture, and classroom space allow instructors to alter the environment rather than letting students memorize a single layout.
Sizelove’s instructional work reflects a consistent method: identify the mission, define the required performance, build a realistic environment, introduce complexity and resistance, observe where people or systems fail, and refine the solution. The same principle applies to breaching and CQB. Forced entry is not merely the act of opening a door; it requires coordination of tools, structure, timing, risk, and the larger tactical plan. Close-quarters performance likewise demands more than shooting mechanics. It adds angles, unknown spaces, communication, other people, poor information, and adversarial behavior.
