Professional Biography
Brian K. Sain is a veteran Texas law-enforcement officer, longtime police sniper and sniper instructor, founding director of AmericanSnipers.org, executive-board member of the American Sniper Association, former Chief Operating Officer of Black Hills Ammunition, and president of SAIN Defense.
Sain’s law-enforcement career spans municipal and county service and includes decades of experience as a sniper, sniper-team leader, and instructor. His work has connected operational practice with professional education, equipment development, industry relationships, and support for military and law-enforcement precision-rifle personnel.
Following September 11, 2001, Sain learned that some deploying military snipers and designated marksmen lacked specialized equipment. He began soliciting support through the interconnected police, military, and firearms-industry sniper communities. The resulting grassroots effort, initially known as Adopt a Sniper, developed into AmericanSnipers.org.
What began with Sain working from his garage grew into a national nonprofit network of experienced volunteers supporting deployed sniper elements. AmericanSnipers.org received the Carlos N. Hathcock II Award in 2007 for its contribution to American military sniper programs. Sain’s work with the American Sniper Association has also supported professional data collection, education, and post-critical-incident assistance.
His two years as COO of Black Hills Ammunition added experience translating operational requirements into ammunition-industry production and support. Across these roles, Sain’s distinctive contribution has been building durable connections among practitioners, instructors, manufacturers, donors, and professional organizations.
