B.J. Norris is a professional competitive shooter, firearms instructor, three-time Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Champion, and USPSA Grand Master. His career is defined by sustained high-level performance across Steel Challenge, USPSA, multigun, and related shooting disciplines.
Professional Biography
Norris began competing in USPSA as a young shooter in 2001. He reached Grand Master classification at age 16 and won three consecutive USPSA Open Junior National titles. His early international results included a junior silver medal at the 2005 IPSC Handgun World Shoot and the 2006 Steel Challenge Junior World Championship.
He went on to win the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championship in 2011, 2017, and 2019, along with numerous SteelMaster, division, national, rimfire, and junior titles. Wilson Combat’s current team biography credits him with 40 Steel Challenge national and world titles. Current Steel Challenge records also continue to list Norris in multiple handgun divisions.
Norris’s competition background provides an unusually measurable foundation for instruction. Steel Challenge and USPSA expose small inefficiencies in presentation, grip, recoil control, visual processing, target transitions, movement, and reloads. His teaching translates those tested mechanics into methods students can evaluate with times, hits, and repeatable standards.
Wilson Combat currently lists Norris as a member of its shooting team and identifies him as a full-time law-enforcement officer in Texas. His competitive equipment includes customized Glock pistols, 1911s, and Wilson Combat EDC X9-series handguns.
