The fact that he was calm during a massively stressful event is more the issue than he put hits on target at the distance at hand. The first guy I ever trained with had me dinging 10x12” plates at 50 yards with a glock 19 in the woods… consistently. But I was under no stress. This kid, entirely different story. Miles apart.
 
That young man is a hero and was amazing in his ability.

I would agree, that with proper training, it doesn't take long to become proficient. Shooting is rather a simple skill, I believe people overcomplicate it.
