Professional Biography
Tim Reedy is the lead instructor for TDR Training, a Texas-based defensive-firearms educator known for combining extensive personal training with a welcoming, student-centered approach. He has developed his knowledge of concealed carry since 1995 and reports more than 1,400 hours of personal-defense training.
Reedy’s documented credentials include Rangemaster Professional Pistolcraft Instructor, Texas License to Carry Instructor, NRA CCW Instructor, Massad Ayoob Group Deadly Force Instructor, and Citizens Safety Academy Gateway Instructor. In 2025, during his first course at Rogers Shooting School, he earned an Advanced rating while shooting from concealment.
Citizens Safety Academy selected Reedy as the inaugural recipient of its Gateway Instructor Patch, recognizing his ability to help new, uncertain, or culturally disconnected students enter serious firearms education. His approach combines high standards with an accessible entry point and encourages students to continue developing beyond an introductory course.
Reedy has also presented at the Rangemaster Tactical Conference, hosted visiting instructors and instructor-development programs, and developed coursework connecting defensive handgun ownership with practical shooting competition.
