Professional Biography
Monty LeClair is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL, former Navy SEAL Sniper School Chief Petty Officer, advanced sniper instructor, weapons-development and operational-test specialist, gunsmith, and founder of Centurion Arms.
LeClair completed approximately twenty years of Naval Special Warfare service with SEAL teams on both coasts. His career crossed operational use, sniping, instruction, gunsmithing, requirements development, formal testing, and commercial manufacturing.
Weapons Development and Instruction
At Naval Special Warfare Command, LeClair worked with weapons requirements and Operational Test & Evaluation. His documented programs include the Mk12 Special Purpose Rifle, Mk16/Mk17 SCAR, and other emerging small-arms systems.
That work exposed him to how requirements are established, how manufacturers interpret them, how prototypes behave, how operational users evaluate them, and how systems are refined before wider adoption.
LeClair also served at the Naval Special Warfare Training Detachment as an advanced sniper instructor and spent approximately four years as Chief Petty Officer at the Navy SEAL Sniper School. His technical interests include AR-pattern rifles, 1911s, precision bolt guns, machining, and weapons building.
