Lee Weems is a Georgia law-enforcement professional, firearms instructor, adult educator, competitive shooter, instructor developer, and owner of First Person Safety. His work focuses on improving not only shooter performance, but the ability of instructors to diagnose problems, design purposeful training, and produce measurable learning.
Professional Biography
Weems has served as a peace officer since 1999 at the local, state, and federal levels. His assignments have included patrol, field training, investigations, supervision, multiple terms as Chief Deputy, and full-time training responsibilities.
He holds Georgia POST general and firearms-instructor credentials and has completed instructor programs through the FBI and Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers. His documented qualifications include FLETC Distinguished Weapons Expert, Rangemaster Master Firearms Instructor, and Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Master Firearms Instructor. He has also completed Force Science certification and federal programs addressing use of force, active-shooter response, and tactical medicine.
Adult Education and Instructor Development
Weems completed graduate study in Workforce and Adult Education, bringing formal instructional theory into a profession that often develops through apprenticeship and subject-matter expertise. That education informs his focus on how students learn, how instructors identify the cause of a performance problem, and how curriculum can be evaluated against actual outcomes.

Rangemaster’s Enhanced Coaching Skills course, led by Weems, addresses adult-learning characteristics, shooter diagnostics, deliberate speed, and individual coaching. Weems’s competitive and performance background includes an Advanced rating from Rogers Shooting School, FLETC Distinguished Weapons Expert recognition, and Master-class classifications in multiple IDPA divisions.
