Professional Biography
Jay Recto is a firearms-industry professional, former Marine, product specialist, business-development professional, and project manager. He spent more than a decade in FN’s assault-weapon systems organization, later worked with Trijicon, and returned to FN America for work involving emerging weapon-training technology.
Recto served in the Marine Corps from approximately 2000 through 2004, including responsibility as a squad leader. That experience gave him an end-user perspective on how engineering, ergonomics, maintenance, accessories, and training affect a weapon outside a controlled demonstration.
FN America and the SCAR
At FN, Recto progressed from Assault Weapon Systems Specialist into management and became a recognizable technical representative for the FN SCAR family and other military-derived weapon systems.
His work connected the manufacturer with military and law-enforcement users, commercial customers, dealers, trainers, and firearms media. Effective technical representation requires explaining why a system was developed, how its controls and configurations work, how accessories integrate, and how military and commercial variants differ.
Optics and Training Technology
Recto later joined Trijicon in business-development roles, expanding his experience from firearms into integrated sighting systems such as the ACOG, RMR, and VCOG. He subsequently returned to FN and became involved with FN e-Novation and weapon-skills training technology.
This progression connects firearm, optic, training system, and user. Modern small arms operate as integrated systems, and useful simulation or training technology must reflect both mechanical reality and how people actually learn and perform.
