After posting what was apparently the 15th post in reference to this, I figured it was worth a forum post.
For those of you with Jeeps or other small SUV's with easily accessible cargo areas, how are you securing a rifle/SBR/AR pistol, or whatever? While I like the idea of keeping a shorty nearby along with some spare mags, I don't want to have it unsecured in the passenger area while I am away from the vehicle.
This is my temporary solution:
It is held in place under the rear seat with some velcro lined straps from a spare rifle case. It is concealed from view and I don't imagine someone taking the time to flip my seat to inspect the 3-4" space under my seat. I still might modify the bottom of the seat to accept a locking rifle mount.
This is what it looks like if you open the tailgate. Again, I think the concealment aspect alone would go a long way in protecting it.
