What's the best sandsock you have ever made or used? What made (or makes) it the best? What would make it better? What are some issues you have run into with various options?

I like the TAB gear sand sock, but I wish it was more... squishy. Oddly enough I tend to like using my old green Army Sock and Airsoft BB special more often then not. Its light, soft, and easy to use and soundless. It has to be compact enough that you can't put enough pressure on it to part the material inside the sock, but soft and malleable so you can easily change elevation up and down quickly without having to re-index the sand bag and spend time getting comfy. Weirdly enough, I shot great just using my fist with the M107 out too 1500y at school. It didn't make sense, but I just went with it as I shot great that day.

I have been using both the large and small wedge from triad. I don't particularly like how they interface with my stock under recoil. I think I may try the FTW bag from Rifles Only. When I am wearing my pc I have come good luck in grabbing the strong side shoulder strap and cupping the stock in my hand. The front plate transmits a good bit of stability from the ground.

I have a couple that I had the wife sew up for me out of some 50/50 NYCO. I used plastic stuffed animal beads from Joann's for the filler. They have served me pretty well, and the price was right.

I stole the idea from a guy at a class I went to, but I sewed my own cylindrical bag out of some 1000D and then stuffed it with various lengths of 550 cord. Works as well as sand/ stuffing beads, but weighs A LOT less. I'll post a couple of pics when I get a chance to grab it from my patrol car.

I use a variety depending on the situation. I have one of the small TAB rectangular socks as well as a large Weibad. The Weibad is especially helpful for awkward positional shooting and to use as support for my strong/trigger side; using the straps to slip my arm through and using it for support against my ribcage. This has been especially helpful in competition shooting.

I use a Wiebad as well. I believe it's the Todd Stock Pack. Also use the Red Tac Gear tactical pillow if weight isn't an option or speed for a stage.

Generally I use a Accuracy First bag (I try to swipe one from Todd everytime I see him) -- but for the USASOC Comp Jack loaned me a super light weight one.

Tied it to the stock and it stayed out the way the entire time, and never noticed it when moving or not using it.

I totally forget who makes it - but maybe Jack will check in.

I prefer the AF bag - but I'm a wimp, and for stuff where I need to carry something, I'll opt for the LW variant ;)

Wiebad -- you can sort of see it in the picture above, behind the stock and it contrasts heavily with the Crye shirt
