PTR K3P Locking Piece

This is a locking piece from my PTR K3P 12.5" that's a G3K clone in 308. I would not have known this or discovered this - it's not optimized for this sized gun. @hoplopfheil pointed out that the #18 50 degree locking piece is a better choice, which can help lessen wear on the gun as well as change up the recoil slightly for the positive.

I went to @hkparts and ordered the replacement. It arrived yesterday and I installed it without issue. Now I just need to shoot it.

I have already put several mags through it and really liked it with the shown locking piece. I look forward to shooting it now.

I have a .308 PTR-91 and while listening to the podcast heard him talk about that and my ears perked up. Do you know if the concern is only with certain models or just the mere fact that its a .308?

I thought it was in relation to the gas/barrel length.
