Overland / "off-road" courses?

Clearly this can be moved to where ever would be more appropriate.

Looking for pointers to & recommendations on overland / "off-road" driving schools, training. Through web searches found a couple on the East Coast, a buddy pointed me to one in central California (Land Rover).

Aside from a bit of very local, short distance playing in mud, what little experience I have relates to Humvees (M996/1114) with various crew served weapons.

Where are you located, or how far are you willing to go? That info would greatly help to be able to guide you.

What do you drive?

You'd probably have better luck looking for an enthusiast group for your vehicle at a local off road park, or BLM land, than more generic terms.

Really late reply. Apologies.

As for off-road driving schools out west, Bill Burke (bb4wa.com) is the first to come to mind. Burke is a former Camel Trophy guy, vet, and knows his stuff.

Another option is to attend Overland Expo West in May and sign up for as many driving and recovery classes as you have time for.
