Seems like Mec-Gar has upped their game lately. Just got this 9mm 1911 magazine and expected the typical polymer follower but this 9 round has a steel follower and looks more similar to my metalform and Tripp magazines. You can see from the top view picture that feed lips release the rim sooner than the other two, so the feeding is not as controlled. The other two magazines styles have been reliable so far, but they do have a tendency to hit the ramp pretty hard as they feed. I will follow up eventually after I put more rounds through them.
Mec-gar mag is in the middle, stainless one is the Tripp. Metalform is the black outer magazine.
