M&P shield with a barrel mounted compensator. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

I have a S&W shield that I plan on carrying every day. I shoot it fairly well with the apex trigger and trijicon fiber optic sights that are on it now, and recently I took third overall in my local outlaw IDPA match, first in my division. My question is, is it worth it get a threaded barrel and compensator to be able to more easily shoot this small gun. I am sending it off to be cut for a 507k, and I wondered about also adding the comp for more shootability. Currently, I shoot NATO spec 124gr ball, as it better replicates my carry ammo and it is a handful in such a small gun. Is this a good idea, or should I focus on something else? It will also be getting a tlr-6 hl when I get my holster and light in.
