Home Defense Choice, Mindset, and the Research Behind It

So, I've had a lot of conversations with guys lately about what to use for home defense. Many of the conversations revolve around guys say things like, "get a shotgun and load it with buckshot" or "use a shotgun with birdshot" and "don't use an AR, it will go through too many walls." Basically the advice that I see out there comes from opinionated and unsubstantiated claims from couch commandos who haven't done any training and gotten the bulk of their research from Guns and Ammo, movies, and Call of Duty. The other side of that is the, "I don't want to kills someone breaking into my house. I just will shoot them in the leg or something to stop them." This is obviously a very naive mindset that could be very dangerous to themselves and those they protect.

I currently have two go-to weapons for home defense, Glock 9mm, Streamlight TLR-1, and Hornady Critical Duty 135gr+P or 14.5" (pinned and weld flashhider) middy AR15, Surefire G2X flashlight, and 77gr BTHP or Federal 55gr BTHP. I do have a shotgun, but it is not my go-to for home defense. I've spent a lot of time training with these weapons and I have spent a lot of time researching what is best for my situation.

What I'm looking for are articles and research to save on my computer to share with someone to help educate them on their weapon selection, ammo selection, and prepare their mindset for defending themselves and families.

Here's what I've gotten so far:

Dr. Roberts on Ammo Choices, http://www.ar15.com/ammo/project/Self_Defense_Ammo_FAQ/

Perspectives on Rifle for HD from popular instructors, http://www.breachbangclear.com/the-truth-about-rifles-for-hearth-and-home/

FBI Justification for 9mm, http://soldiersystems.net/2014/09/25/fbi-9mm-justification-fbi-training-division/

What other articles or instructors would you recommend? What are your philosophies? Moderators, let me know if there is a better place for this thread.
