Cougar Mountain Solutions' Pistol-Mounted Optic instructor course, 9-11 June 2023, Dallas Pistol Club - Carrollton, Texas;

Tuition
$630 (includes range fee)

Pistol-mounted optics aren’t coming; they are here!
This course focuses on how to teach the optic for reactive and proactive use while taking legal and human factors into consideration while addressing what does and doesn't change with the PMO. Students will develop a knowledge-based foundation for addressing equipment, training, plus program and policy development concerns. This course was developed at the request of law enforcement agencies in two states.

Equipment: Note-taking materials, 650 rounds of reliable pistol ammunition, mid to full-size handgun w/optic, proper holster, three magazines with pouches, and a suitable belt. Eye & ear protection, appropriate range attire for the weather conditions. Note-taking materials, fluids, and snacks.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of state or nationally recognized law enforcement firearms instructor program -or- Rangemaster's advanced instructor course.

About the Instructor: Erick is a retired Sheriff's Sergeant from northern California and a lead instructor (or range master) at Gunsite. Based on his experience and training with pistol-mounted optics, he was asked to develop Gunsite's pistol-mounted optics classes. He served in the US Army and made it through grad school. Erick also taught for Aimpoint and is a presenter at Rangemaster's yearly TacCon.

We wanted to try doing this open enrollment, rather than just being another L/E class. In kicking this idea around for more than a year I decided to go with Rangemaster's Advanced Instructor course at the non-L/E threshold. The amount of time required is equivalent to a L/E handgun-only instructor class.

For any Texas officers, I found out this morning that TCOLE has approved the class for 19 hours of training credit.
