Aside from Surefire, Streamlight, and Elzetta what white lights are people using on long guns? I have a few that need lights but I can't justify spending hundreds on lights that will have very limited use. If there's no other decent options G2X pros might fill the need.

ThaLight C JaInforce on both my rifles. They mount directly to a rail with no other mounting interface needed, they are light, and can be set to single mode, which is what I prefer. The WMLx puts out 500 lumens and costs like $150, which is about what the Surefire Fury kicks out, with no need for other mounting devices like the VTAC, etc.

Mike JohnsonIf you want a light to have it just in case, I think the plastic Surefires are a great option. You can keep one in the glove boxes of your cars, bug-out bags, and there are plenty of mounts and accessories you can use to mount it, and add things like a pressure switch.

John KohrdtNot sure if inforce has done any major improvements since I threw all mine away but all of the ones I had failed. The wml failed from getting smashed against a wall on a deployment so they might be alright on a home defense gun. The hand helds both went tits up from light use.

Will LongSurefire for me too. You can buy second hand and save cash. Surefire will still cover with the warranty. In my experience low cost lights are not made for the abuse and recoil like the higher end brands are. Buy once, cry once.

Ian WendtYou know INFORCE has a lifetime warranty, right? If they went tits up from light use, and not abuse, I have no doubt INFORCE would replace them. I have several lights from them and have yet to have any fail.

John KohrdtI guess I could have got them replaced and sold them but I won't own another hand held one. I shall never stray from surefire again.

Michael NovackI think this qualifies as not-quite-Surefire. Malkoff M300 upgrade head on a 90s era Surefire E1O body as an ad hoc Mini Scout with 250 lumens, and a Malkoff M61 drop-in for a super old factory OD-anodized 6P now running around 325 lumens.

Jamie WiedemanThe SureFire G2X Tactical has single 320 lumen output. It's a great weapon light with 2.5 hours of battery run time. There are many aftermarket mounts for them. The Daniel Defense offset light mount is $50 MSRP and a good compact, well made, lightweight option I like. Many others including VTAC.
