So I'm in the market for a Vis/IR laser and IR illuminator combo. I'm lolling at the new Dbal A3 along with a few others. This will for work (high risk transport/recovering lost inmates) and some hog and crop depredation hunting. All of this will be class one NON eye burning laser beams. It will be purchased by me.
So what is the ticket right now? I'll be running a PVS14 from TNVC.

Josh TooleOnly issue with the I2 is lack of IR lum. The new I2 will have IR lum but lacks a vis laser. I'm being picky and doing the buy once cry once so I want all three in one unit.

Josh TooleAh gotcha. Yeah that's why I'm leaning very heavy towards the A3. That way I still run my fury and not have to run another IR lum on the other side. I don't want to have to drop coin for another ir/WL combo when I already have a very capable WL.

Josh TooleYeah with can, light a a laser system it'll be a brick up front already. Mounting another light sheish! I'd have to start doing a shit load of curls!

Josh TooleThe vampire is only 300 lum correct? That's another issue and why I'm thinking I don't want the Raptor is the lack of light. I've gotten used to my Fury and the amount of light it throws. I'm damn near blind so the light is nice.

Matt LeviChappy can elaborate, but Steiner has a 500 lumen white/IR light in the lineup. I think it looks ugly, but looks don't matter when its for fighting guns.

John ChapmanSo there are several ways to go for you, but based on what you're saying, the DBAL A3 and the white light of your choice would seem to be the best fit. That gives you 1) Coalligned vis and IR pointers, 2) an adjustable IR illuminator, 3) a white light you're happy with, and 4) the ability to integrate the white light into your laser for vis override etc. All of the other options would require you to comprimise something to get what you want.

Josh TooleThat's kinda what I was thinking but when I start thing sometimes I miss the big picture and didn't want to miss something guy with way more time on the system have already thought of.
