Thoughts on 357 Magnum Lever Action Carbines

Hello P&S forum,
I listened to the P&S 379 and 357 episodes, and many others, and was convinced I had to buy a lever gun (now the proud owner of a S&W Model 1854 Stealth Hunter in 357 mag) Just wanted to open up a discussion on lever guns in general, calibers for hunting, self defense, and opinions on optics, M-Lok, and suppressors on a lever gun like the 1854, or Henry Model X.
Thanks.

If the Primary Arms 1x prism had longer eye relief it would be one of my choices...
Yeah, I have my eye on that. Rugged, astigmatism friendly, good reviews. I read it has a sweat spot at about 4 inches, but is "usable" out to 12". Never owned one, so I can't confirm.

Thanks for opening up the topic. I too got a lot out of those particular episodes. I have a fondness for lever actions. As for sights I’ve stuck with the traditional buckhorn. Certainly optics have their advantages, as do skinner sights. I have 200 meters of steel targets up at the hunt cabin that tinker with on weekends. I’ve grown to really appreciate buckhorns a lot. Similar to holding over with an optic, I’ve found I can quite consistently raise the front sight in the buckhorn to connect on steel at range with the various calibres I shoot.
