The Super Test (Hardwired Tactical Shooting)


The Super Test is a modification of Ken Hackathorn's The Test (10 rounds at 10 yards in 10 seconds on a B8) that was created by Wayne Dobbs and Darryl Bolke at Hardwired Tactical Shooting. It consists of three strings of fire, all shot at a NRA B8 target:

1. 10 rounds at 15 yards in 15 seconds
2. 10 rounds at 10 yards in 10 seconds
3. 10 rounds at 5 yards in 5 seconds

Rounds that are shot over the time limit are considered a miss, and 10 points are deducted for each one. A passing score is 270/300, which is a 90%. A superb score is 290/300 (95%) or above. The normal version of the test starts from low-ready; the Advanced Super Test starts from drawing from the holster.

Other variations include the following:

Single Stack Super Test, for the 1911 guys out there:
1. 8 rounds at 15 yards in 15 seconds
2. 8 rounds at 10 yards in 10 seconds
3. 8 rounds at 5 yards in 5 seconds
Passing score: 214/240 (90%)
Superb score: 228/240 (95%) or greater

Revolver Super Test:
1. 6 rounds at 15 yards in 12 seconds
2. 6 rounds at 10 yards in 8 seconds
3. 6 rounds at 5 yards in 4 seconds
Passing score: 162/180 (90%)
Superb score: 171/180 (95%) or greater

Snubby Super Test:
1. 5 rounds at 10 yards in 8 seconds
2. 5 rounds at 5 yards in 5 seconds
3. 5 rounds at 3 yards in 3 seconds
Passing score: 135/150 (90%)
Superb score: 143/150 (95%) or greater
