Looks like the Romeo2 is being positioned as a direct competitor to the RMR and Deltapoint Pro, as Sig's most robust duty-grade pistol RDS.
Like the current Romeo1, the R2 appears to have a rear sight notch engineered into the body of the optic itself that would cowitness with a suppressor-height front post, so you wouldn't necessarily need a standalone rear iron sight.
The Romeo1Pro appears to be basically identical to the current Romeo1, reportedly with some more robust materials.
The difference is mainly the included additional protective shroud, which features an integrated rear iron sight.
Both of these optics are designed to fit a Deltapoint Pro footprint, like the current slide cutout on the M17 pistols. Sounds like all of Sig's optics-ready pistols will be transitioning to this footprint in the near future
