Repairing a XC1

I was wondering if anyone had any experience replacing the mounting/locking screw on a XC1? I got the replacement parts from Surefire about a week and a half ago but have been unable to remove that black E clip like thing. I’m sure it’s something simple and obvious that somehow didn’t occur to me. Any info would be appreciated.

I ended up asking Surefire to exchange it for a X300U-A because of the inconsistent performance of my unit. Hopefully that should be coming in shortly. That being said, I would still be interested in what you discover.
