Recommendations for basic quality lower?

Setting up a basic rifle for serious defensive use.
was able to get a complete BCM complete 16 inch mid-length upper, just want a good quality complete lower to mate it with. willing to spend money for quality, just don't need anything fancy. standard mil-spec is acceptable and preferred

Lowers, I've built with LMT, old school Stag, Aero and PSA, so kind of the gamut of tiers. SOLGW complete lowers can be found for under $250, and those are about as solid as the platform gets, IMO.

KE Arms has their KP-15 lowers for $200. You can get fancied or stripped versions for various prices.

Just bought a Ballistic Advantage lower for $90 (Black Friday.) It's basically an Aero enhanced lower (Aero owns BA) but usually about $20 less.

There are plenty out there and cheap because the market is soft

I actually just sold my KP-15 build. I wasn't the biggest fan of the flared magwell, and the safety selector retention was a bit weak for my liking. but it did make the rifle light. recoil was noticeably harsher, not that it wasn't manageable. In the end, I found I prefer the smaller grip style of A2 grips, which you cannot change on KP-15, and with my long arms I wish i could adjust lop.
