I'm an old 11B2P who served during the PVS-4/5/7 era, so I'm very happy with my PVS-14. So happy that I don't want to lose them or drop them on concrete...
The magpul QD cup is mounted to the TW Exfil bump helmet with the original TW nut and bolt. The cord is elastic bungee tied around the (seldom used) TNVC/Aimpoint rifle mount with zip tie's.
Other than possibly whacking the QD and cracking the Exfil, Is there another, better, DIY method? Longer bolt with a washer to spread the impact over a wider area ot the helmet? Or should I just pony up for the TNVC lanyard? I really like that it doubles as a rifle mounted lanyard...
