So the trend is to go with a high mount for dots and lpvos which I’m all about, but it’s almost full circle if you ask me. I remember when I used to shoot 3-gun with a cmore strapped to an A2 carry handle. That’s almost the same height as the knights/redback mount now.
I like the heads up feel of the 1.9 and 2.04 mounts and after trying and failing to use an m50 mask with a lower 1/3 mount I am sold on high rise mounts again. I don’t have nods yet but I hear the high mounts work well also.
So full circle again, I’m thinking of an improved acog rmr piggyback. A red dot on a piggyback mount is about the same height as some of these high mounts. So how about hearing from some of you who have tried this in the past? My thoughts on an improved system would be an rmr or aimpoint on a lpvo. Lpvo would be used for most things and the red dot can be used as a quick 1x, passive night vision sight, pro mask, etc.
