We have non-practitioners who have never had to restrain, or fight, an adult human, dictating policy. This will not end well.

Doesn’t leave much for effective tactics to subdue a resistive or combative suspect. Time to become a report taker.

I don’t think there’s any language written in to allow for that. It’s actually a misdemeanor crime in NYC to place pressure anywhere above the suspects waist line, even if there’s no injury or intent.

NY State Troopers and neighboring jurisdictions don’t want to go into NYC and I don’t blame them.

It just means that officers will resort to using more injurious force to subdue a resisting suspect. It's a recipe for disaster...

I've been hurt more trying to use *less* force than I ever have using the right amount of force. God bless you NYPD cops, but please leave that awful agency and city.
