Personal note: We're all big fans of tripod shooting here at the HQ. After decades of combined experience in combat, competition, and backcountry hunting the consensus is that prone is of very limited use and positional shooting is what differentiates between good and great precision shooters. This is our solution at reducing the weight and bulk penalty of cludgy M1913 adapters or saddles. The saddles are fantastic and extremely versatile, and remain a staple of my personal tripod kit, but for many users a smaller, lighter, cheaper adapter makes the most sense. If you've used the Manfrotto RC2 plate as an intermediary in any prior setup, you'll notice and immediate gain in fit and stability with our optimized geometry and interface.

The M-LOK Tripod Adapter, for metal M-LOK compatible hand guards or forends, mounts directly onto any tripod head equipped with the common Manfrotto RC2/Q2 interface. This adapter allows the user to mount their rifle directly to a tripod head without the use of any additional connections giving them a secure shooting platform. The M-LOK Tripod Adapter is machined from aluminum and finished in Mil-Spec anodizing which offers excellent corrosion resistance. The beveled ends and corners produce a minimal footprint allowing the user to keep the M-LOK Tripod Adapter attached to the weapon system at all times with minimal snagging hazards. MSRP $49.95, Made in U.S.A.

The concept of the M-LOK Tripod adapter is to give shooters the option to clip into a off-the-shelf tripod using the widely proliferated Manfrotto RC2/Q2 interface. With the proper head selection*, a carbine or precision rifle can be snapped onto a tripod without the use of additional adapters or intermediaries and offer a stable, durable shooting position across a wide variety of shooting conditions. There is almost no weight penalty, and minimal cost compared to many other solutions.

* Tripod head load bearing capabilities vary widely based on intended use. Consult manufacturer's specifications to ensure your tripod head can support the weight of a rifle for optimal performance.
