Mr Wizard

Greetings. Long time listener, first time caller.

Veteran, basic pistol instructor and permit to carry instructor, DNR Hunter Safety instructor. Currently seeking a seat on the board for my small local gun club in hopes of bringing some real world practical skills to the training currently being offered.

Post military work and certs have included Wildland Firefighting, WFR, EMT-B, Lifeguard, a stint in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and now more recently transitioned into working as a certified mental health specialist while thinking of going back to school.

Member here since 2015 but have never made a post. Sometimes firearms instructor, sometimes college professor, full time commercial nuclear operations instructor, full time lubrication nerd.

Been lurking / reading for quite a while. Got invited as a ModCast panelist, Matt said he could use some content. I am a writer, among other things, and here I am.

I am prior law enforcement, early 80s to 2008. I also dabbled in physical and industrial security a time or three. Worked in operations roles for a software company these past years and retired at the end of last month. I've been an instructor off and one since 2010. I hold five certifications from NRA including Level 1 Coach in sporting shotgun. Currently hold three Instructor certifications from Rangemaster, going for my fourth (Advanced Defensive Shotgun) in July. Also an instructor in response to Active Shooters. I have a long background in policy and procedure research and procedure creation, have trained in service LE and in the private sector including Train the Trainer courses. I am on the contributing staff at Snub Noir and have published articles for that org as well as for the Snub Gun Study Group. I've been a competitive shooter and hold an Expert classification in Stock Service Pistol with IDPA.

I believe in the continuing efficacy of the revolver and the shotgun as defensive tools for the contexts of my day to day life, but learning new tricks is something I've never stopped doing, which sort of explains the four M&P pistols and the four ARs in my safe.

Name's Kevin. I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the P&S podcast about the same time I first got interested in guns beyond the occasional family clay shoot. My work takes me to a wide variety of locations that range from boring controlled access to having to call the authorities 6 times in 3 months for a mix of OD, violence, and robbery. My work can vary from hunched over a desk for hours to what some would describe as acrobatic by the modern standard of fitness. The closest thing I have to tactical training is an ongoing love for playing paintball and some one on one training with a local retired cop that won't give up on trying to recruit me. I have no professional experience with weapons or the use of force but I do take the idea of being my own first responder seriously. That pretty much sums up why I finally decided to join up here. I don't expect to be able to offer much besides the clarifying question here or there.

Hi folks, my name is Nick. I'm in Georgia, long time lurker on the P&S Facebook group and page, as well as a listener/ watcher on the channel. I'm the guy behind the Archetype of Man channel on YouTube. I'm also a member of the Cult of the .32 H&R/ .327 Fed Magnums. I do landscaping by trade, but have worked in and around the firearms industry on the side since 2020 in one capacity or another. Excited to be here and to learn from y'all!

Hi everybody, my name is Kevin. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2014. I worked as a marksmanship instructor as a civilian for the Navy and then at a shooting range teaching permit to carry classes. At the range I worked with some excellent instructors who pointed me in this direction. I look forward to learning from everybody here.

I'm Andrew from Idaho. I'm a high school history teacher and a revolver and da/sa aficionado. I found P&S on Spotify while riding a bus across the state and started listening to Modcasts on J frames, mouse guns and DA "thinking triggers" and was so impressed by the sheer quality of information and lack of BS by those involved that I've been hooked ever since. If we ever happen to be on the same range, I'll be the youngest guy there shooting a 92fs or Model 36.

Bobby in South Carolina here! I haven’t been on forums in many years, but the time has come with social media censorship.
I am an Army MP veteran 90-95 (Desert Storm vet). 20 years with the largest sheriff’s department in SC. Retired in 2015. 4 years in sales and production testing for FN America. Now I am a police officer again on an Army basic training base in SC.
I am excited about getting back into the forums and leaving social media behind.

I worked as a police officer in Virginia in the early 1980s. Some knee problems brought my law enforcement career to close. I went to law school, handling a wide variety of cases, from violations of city ordinances to first degree murder, from parking lot fender benders to railroad crossing collisions.

My love of firearms has not ceased. I am a certified NRA instructor in several disciplines and for the Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit course. I look forward to being here.

Hey yall, name's Obie. Work in Alaska as a Firefighter/EMT at two organizations, enjoy rope rescue and HazMat. Had my first woods carry gun at 7 (Model 19 with 38s in it.) Became a firearms enthusiast in college, loved going to gun shows and selling with my family, and I constantly jabber about set ups at work with the boys. Enjoy everything from Fitz Specials to Roland Specials, and have a special place in my heart for the 1911. Saw you guys through Hop and Brass Facts, been watching the Modcast alot lately, super cool.

Hi all, name's Pat. No mil or LE background. Was a covid craze gun buyer who wasn't content leaving a gun to rust in my sock drawer, been on the search for good info for the last couple years which led me to P&S. I enjoy playing with wheel guns which happen to fit my carry needs at the moment, my workplace is an NPE. I'll probably end up lurking and soaking in info from those who've been there and done that but if anyone needs help looking after shrubs, trees, or houseplants hit me up.

Newbie that found the site after listening to Primary and Secondary on YT. Been carrying a snub most of the time for years and used to shoot snubby matches at Heartland Gun range back in the day in Edmond OK. Ankle, pocket, or a KyTac AIWB but almost always have the 340 M&P within reach.

Hi Folks. I'm Jamie. Just a gimped up old, mostly retired, RN that worked ICU & ER the past 40+ years, 20 in New Orleans prior to relocating to Knoxville after Katrina. I was fortunate to serve as a Corpsman from '73-'82.
I "help" at a local college running SIMS for PAs and RNs. It's too much fun to call it work!

I learn quite a bit from the P&S Modcasts and appreciate the time and effort all put into providing them. Thank you!

I've been Blessed to train with some remarkable individuals over the decades and fully understand and appreciate that learning is a life long process. Always a student.
