A few months ago we were cycling gear out in the medical kits I keep in the car and the range bag. I realized that all I had for treating chest injuries were gauze, so I picked up some hemostatic pads I had trained on in the Army.
I also picked some some Celox injectors, which were very new to me. These were interesting because you fed them into the wound site and injected the clotting mechanism directly into it. Spray foam for torso wounds. I've also seen a lot of hubbub about X-Stat, but I haven't seen it in the wild yet or anything beyond the basic clinical trial reports.
Has anyone had on-hand experience with Celox or X-stat? They're fairly lightweight and low volume so I'm not feeling particularly crunched for space, but before I go recommending them to other people I'd appreciate some feedback on them.
