Handguard Lengths

I’ve seen suppressed SBRs setup two ways: with the handguard ending around the same length as the barrel, or with the handguard over lapping the suppressor by some variable length.

What is everyone’s preference and why?

Does not pass up an opportunity to criticize P&S.
Overlapping makes removing the suppressor difficult, conducts extra heat at the end of the hand guard from the suppressor and may or may not fit over your chosen suppressor (or you have to sacrifice on a can that will fit under your rail).

The military has messed around with that quite a bit and it just doesn’t work amazingly well.
