Lid is a Crye Airframe. BNVD-G's with homemade counterweight and Princeton Tec light. Sordin ears.
IMG_9312 (933x1024).jpg
Paraclete APC -Front has 3 Taco pouches that usually carry two mags and a taser. RMT TQ on front of the mag pouches, PTT and that's about it and dump pouch on the dick flap. Dump pouch may hold door wedges, 1" webbing in a 24' roll, spare mags, Recon robot or controller, etc. If I am ballistic breaching I toss a spare Saiga magazine in it along with extra rounds.

Back is slick except for the Emergency Breaching Tool and flex cuffs threaded in the MOLLE

1st line is a BFG belt with a Pantel Tactical (Local Company) custom inner belt with Cobra buckle. I insert plastic to stiffen it up. Left to right is two pistol mags, radio, NFDD, Fury handheld, G34 in 6354DO, fast mag (mag is inserted bullets to rear) and leatherman. You can't see it but there is an ESEE Izula between the radio and bang.

This is my primary kit for most things. If we get tasked as UC cover, vehicle takedown, tube, maritime or aircraft I wear a CRYE JPC with an ODC holster and double mag pouch. I have a horizontal AR mag pouch that also goes on. Comms usually goes to ear bud and hand mic.

Clothing is issued Crye black or MC uniform. You're on your own for cold gear but we also issue black and MC raingear.

And IFAK is a home made, vacuum sealed Phokus looking thing that fits between the front plate and soft armor. Pull tab at the bottom and it comes right out.

Omg... that nods set up makes me cry. We can always spot our "attached enablers" because they have PVS-15 horseshoe style nods setups and their shit looks like "antlers".

So when I see some crazy outline walking at me that looks like a 12 point buck, I smile and know it's the airforce dude......

I'm questioning the viability of the hatchet on the back. Two things come to mind. If that's a bottom fed retention sheath, wouldn't a little bump on the handle knock it loose? How do you sit down?

It is bottom fed, it's never come out in the last year without a distinct and deliberate pull. The bottom of the handle rides about in the middle of the battle belt, so sitting in the bearcat to ride to the job has no affect. If I was going to sit for a while, I would remove it and leave it behind.

Roland fill us in on the NODS setup. They are a relatively new addition to our equipment load out for the LEO crowd up here in the Pac NW. School us on the better mouse trap.

No guys. OK there are basically three mounting platforms for nods. There is the PVS 7 style with a fat triangle shaped adaptor. This is also called the ITT style (because that's where it came from).

The "Litton style" which is a much slimmer triangle used in the old PVS7A and now popular with all things fucking SEAL starting with the PVS7C and moving onto the pvs-15.

Then finally there is the avation "ANVIS" or ball detent mounting. This is different from the other two because it was designed for pilots for its ease of use to lift and lower the NVG's. The mount is also powered with a hot shoe (two brass pins) so that when the NVG's are lowered the NVG's mate up with the hot shoes in the mount and power from a battery pack on the rear of the helmet turns on the NVG's.

I'm biased, but I consider the avation style ball detent to be far superior to any other mounts out there. The NVG's rotate on a pivot point and stay lower and closer to the helmet than other styles. The "Litton" style attachment which is predominately proliferated by Wilcox industries rotates the PVS-14 or BNVD High above the helmet. This was done by design because the PVS 15's are so goddamned heavy. NY placing them high over the helmet they move the center of gravity to the rear and reduce the forward pull. This was a concern when chinstrap assemblies and suspension systems were not as advanced as they are now.

The ANVIS mounts keep the NVG's lower and MUCH closer to the helmet.

Most new NVG's for government use will be modular so the military can order them with either type of attachment (Litton or anvis). The PVS 31 and the Ground panoramic NVG are both designed this way.

The reason for this is because the Navy cannot use the hot shoe avation style because it does not do well in salt water and some Army refuse to go with the Litton style because the fucking NVG's stick up like antlers.

To make matters even more confusing, back in the age of the MICH helmet, the base plates that held these various mounts (which held the various NVG'S) were all different configurations. You had 1 hole (PVS7), 2 hole (Ground ANVIS), or 3 hole (wilcox/pvs15) and each helmet 2000, 2001, 2002 had a different NSN part number for the number of holes AND for color so the MICH helmet had like 18 part numbers for three different color/CUT/hole combinations.

There is nothing fucking cheap about night vision. A good wilcox mount (they make great shit in ball detent too) is gonna be over 1,000.00 bucks.

There are those that will argue that the ball detent was designed for pilots and not durable enough for the urban fight getting knocked around and such and as a general rule they might be right. The requirement for the goggle is that a pilot can put it on and take it off with one hand.....however COMMA aftermarket springs can be purchased and placed into the goggle making the ball detent MUCH stiffer for ground use.

I have learned. Isn't mentoring much funner than making a guy feel small and Air Force like?

The shit above was free, my team is behind the curve on NVG technology and use. My time with NVG from 1986 as a Big Army Scout was the PVS-1(Might have been a .5). As a SWAT dude I have been a proponent of really bright flashlights, so I have been reading, learning and meditating on how this is BEST incorporated into our missions.

The NVG's and mounts were off a grant. All other supporting equipment for 36 MF'ers was not. And the Boss also didn't add a line item to my budget, so I am buying gear off existing funds that are supposed to buy other stuff. Because of that, I will be a 12 point buck for the remainder of the year.

Thanks for breaking it down.

This is my roll rig, be it active shooter, search warrant, or just rollin around jacking up bad guys. It's a Shellback tactical banshee filled with KDH lvl 4 plates wearing a mix of blackhawk, 5.11 and a dreaded condor pouch for the taser. I usually have my soft armor on either over or under my shirt unless I bail in a hurry. It rides in my back seat, drivers side. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1424467168.263498.jpg

Anyone have a JPC? How did you go about setting it up?

I will be posting my own stuff here shortly after I wring a few details out. The list of things I need/carry keeps growing and the bag keeps getting heavier for my long gun. I need to re-eval what I have. I would kill for a Crye Nightcap... would free up a lot of space.

Matt I have a JPC. Let me get pics later.

3 PMAG In the Kangaroo pouch, 1 pistol mag in Kangaroo, 1 Leatherman MUT in Kangaroo. DARK kit on left of CB. Crye large modular pouch on back for hydro. DARC drag strap. Tyr Bang pouch on R of CB.

I might put a triple m4 ten speed on the front to add mags when needed.

Matt, I have my AVS setup "JPC-ish" with just the plates (front, back, and side if needed) and cummerbund, no harness. I'll get pics up later.

Front:
3x M4 flap, which can be switched with the 3x SR mag fap if needed. Behind that is my Winkler fixed blade, and a U94 PTT on the upper left MOLLE web.
The bottom of the platebag has a TYR small sustainment pouch.

Right side:
TQ to the right of the front plate on the outside of the cummerbund, in an S&S pouch
Handheld light/Leatherman Skeletool in a double-pistol Ten-Speed inside the cummerbund
3x M4 Ten-speed

Left Side:
Crye JPC radio pouch inside the cummerbund, velcro'd to the front
Esstac double pistol outside. Probably going to downgrade to the single pistol soon.
Crye SmartPouch 6x6 GP
Velocity micro dump pouch

Back:
I rotate between two Crye panels as needed. The most-used one is the pouch backpanel, with bangs at the top, sustainment stuff under that (batteries, spare tape switch, etc.), and my Mayflower IFAK under that. The other panel is the Crye backpack one.
On the bottom of the platebag is a Crye side-pull mag pouch.

With this setup, the only thing on my belt is my pistol, and IFAK if I'm using the backpack panel. It rides well, and even in this "minimal" configuration, I find the AVS to be more comfortable than the JPC.

Oh, and...
http://www.optactical.com/crprni.html <----Nightcap, in-stock in Multicam. Get one, seriously.

Any chance of a PERSEC'd picture of this?

I'm working on getting one of my loadout when I get a chance.

Liking the pig sticker... great minds think alike.

Alright, finally got off my ass to post this-
This is my basic what I carry on me or in the truck.

*Sooo much more comfy then the old SAPI shaped steelies.
*Benchmade SOCP "GTFO Me" Tool

Radio's are Kenwood's (read- Garbage) worn on the Belt

Belt is HTC Inner/Outer issued combo. Its alright, but the DSG gear stuff is much better. Sadly I killed my old belt.
Left to Right-
Raven Concealment Kydex Mag Holder
S&S Precision M4 Carrier with belt adapter (and dust keeper outer)
Kydex TQ Holder by W2H Kydex
LBT Lo Pro IFAK, usual contents
Glock 19 w/ X300U in an Safariland ALS and S&S Holster drop (this thing is pretty slick)

M4 with circa 2002 Navy Seal SOPMOD selections save for the X300U and VTAC Bungee Sling

Chest Rig
-Issued Mayflower IV Rig
- Go Juice, Coffee/Chocolate flavor
-7 Magazines, 28 rounds per
- Head Lamp
-Two Glock Magazines
- Extra CAT and SOF-T
- Batteries
- 9 Line/PACE plan cheat cards
- Cut down VS-17

Daily wear is a mix of Kuhl/Carhart/Random collared shirts, usually with an Arc Atom LT as a winter jacket with maybe a Naga sweater. Salomon 4D Quest boots have been a life saver out here.

Will post up long gun bag in detail, carries my rifle, NV for both me and rifle, ammo, minor tools, batteries, Data book, etc... its a bit on the heavy side and it doesn't need to be.

I'd say so, its a lot stiffer at the belt vs the safariland drop, also its offset a tad with the height adjuster, which is one solid piece of aluminium.
