The Air Force is using a QD barrel adapter from Cry Havoc to stash rifles under pilot's seats. I have a specific application I'm considering this for. The LT in charge of the motors came to me, because he wants to put ARs in each of the motor saddle bags. Because of overall length, the bbl length is restricted to 10.5 and under. 10.5" bbl guns come with their own issues, and I was considering DDMK18 rifles. At +/- $2k it's getting spendy quick. I considered Law folders on standard 6920s or Troopers, but we are using Blac Racs and the Law folder won't work with that rack.

The QD adaptor is $345. If it's all it's supposed to be, then I can keep the longer barrel, but stay in the size requirement... and have about $700 for accessories (light, etc.)

It also apparently holds zero too. My plan was to secure the lower, upper and mag in the Blac Rac. Then, lay the barrel assembly in the saddle bag next to it on egg crate. A motor officer would attach the QD and charge the gun. There's a training curve for sure, but I think it might work out.

Anyone use one or know any primary sources? I'm going to order one and T&E, and I assume the Air Force tested it. I just want to do my due diligence and not get stuck with turds.

Here's the product page.
