Concelable Plates

So, I'm looking for concealment rifle plates to put in a Ferro Concepts Slickster. Concealment of this system is priority number one.

Ideally:
- 2-5lbs per plate
- 1/2" thick or less
- 10"x12"
- triple curve
- shooters/swimmers cut
- $200-$500/plate
- stop handgun, M193, M855, 7.62x39 mild steel core (anything else is a bonus. I'd love M80 because I shoot it a lot, and like the idea of having armor that stops what I shoot, but don't expect it from a half inch plate under 5 pounds)

Tyr's Level III+ is 4lb, 1/2" thick, SAPI cut and stops everything you're looking for. If you're LE you can get two plates for about $600 ish total. Not standalone plates, they're ICW with soft armor or backers.

@ Murphy: Thanks, but looking for standalone.
@ Unity: I've perused their offerings, and unless I'm missing something, I don't see what I'm looking for.
@Grizzly: That looks really good. Thanks! Anybody here have experience with them or know anything about the product or company?
@PlasticMag: All Lawful Purposes. To quote Jayne, "I just get excitable as to choice- like to have my options open."

I've got a few orders from them. Mike from AT armor is a PS mod and contributes quite a bit to armor knowledge. They are good to go in this guys opinion.

Chase Tactical carries the TenCate Cratus 8075, which meets all of your needs besides the weight (only ~0.2" thick), and even then it's only about a pound over. https://www.chasetactical.com/shop/...y-steel-rifle-plates-super-multi-strike-copy/

Datasheet here: http://www.tencate.com/amer/Images/...Data Sheet - Cratus 8075SA_R1_tcm29-35504.pdf

Granted, it's an alloy plate, which means you'll have to spring extra for a spall guard, but you should still be underbudget and well within your width requirements, just have to add more to the weight.

I utilize Velocity ULV plates icw IIIa. They are rated 7.62x39 MSC. Ive seen them stop m193 and m855 but if I recall correctly VelSyst has stated before that its not recommending or advocating if m193/m855 is your primary threat.

I went with ATs LE offering myself. Mike was awesome to work with and didn't mind random emails while I was on patrol learning about "armor other than SAPI" .

Change51, I just recently acquired some ULV soft armor to fill a role in my PSD work. I'm thinking about going to ULV plates in conjunction and changing my outer vest/PC for road duty. If it's not too much trouble, could you post or PM me some pics of your rig and application?

Tencate 2000SA/AT Armor STOP/Point Blank Speed Plate Plus would be the minimum level.

Tencate 6400/AT Armor STOP-BZ/Velocity Systems PBZ would be an even better choice.

The Tencate 8075, Velocity Systems ULV, as well as other similar alloy or steel plates would NOT be recommended if 5.56 mm threats are anticipated...

Doc: Care to comment on why the 8075's would not be preferred for 5.56x45mm threats? Per Tencate's published sheet, they are rated for both M193 and M855-and I'm inclined to trust Tencate's testing. That being said, I am aware of monolithic steel plate's limitations (spall, etc).

The plate you are looking for is the most required and generally used for plate armor. I think hard shell can better serve you with the quality and protection. you can check here http://www.hardshell.ae/wpcproduct/hap-icw-2-5-kg/

Hope it will help you :)

So-a couple of things-
1) I do not see HardShell on the NIJ CPL for hard armor products.
2) The plate you referenced is a Lvl IV plate. Lvl IV does not include testing against the specified threats in the original post. If this plate has been tested against these threats, please provide this data for review.
3) Being this is a CONUS user, are your wares even able to be purchased in the United States?
4) Have you declared your industry affiliations with the site owners?
