I’m hoping to create a database of various combat shirts that are currently on the market.

Starting with the ubiquitous ACU cut top as what is probably the entry for most people:
Easily identified by a zippered body with two canted chest pockets, two bicep pockets with flap closures sealed with Velcro. Elbow pockets allow for the use of foam pads though they are not generally used in practice. The left sleeve also features a three slot pen management system.

Patagonia Level 9 Next To Skin Combat Shirt:
One of the less commonly seen combat shirts though it is available through Patagonia’s PROgram. Best identified through the use of pattern matched loop on the pockets and sleeve closures. The body of the shirt may or may not be pattern matched as well depending on the production period. ED65B59B-E35A-4BEE-BF4A-D7E52E3A644D.jpeg
Bicep pockets have two 3x5 loop fields rather than the more commonly seen large fields or split fields as with the Crye G3. 05F31752-FC0A-4700-9234-3A63DA5E9CDA.jpeg
Closure is done with a combination of both hook & loop and buttons. 3D7A8EC8-4915-4DFA-97AA-C4894017AF1B.jpeg
Elbows have pockets allowing for the usage of proprietary pads and the wrist openings are sized with a Velcro tab. CFB2D3FE-6EF2-441A-95C7-7797E7B15537.jpeg

Arc’teryx Combat Shirt AR
Featuring a lay flat/ mandarin colar using a hook & loop/button closure and an almost excessive pocket management system this Combat Shirt is almost as identifiable as the Patagonia lvl 9.
Using mesh under the arm pits to help with cooling it has all the hallmarks of a well thought out design and a price tag to match. 864A03FE-7CDA-4B93-8CD1-D4540C6F5675.jpeg
The bicep loop field have tie down points meant for use with the S&S V-lite and the interior of the pockets have a daisy chain system allowing for the retention of small sensitive items. DBE5BE83-9560-4804-9FC1-B2E3ED9F8AEC.jpeg

Velocity Systems Boss Rugby long Sleeve:
Designed more as a base layer than a true combat shirt it can definitely be put in use as one in hotter environments: the colar follows the basic low cut design of a rugby jersey. B0AF01BE-5E90-4543-B098-DE644BA2761D.jpeg
Bicep pockets have envelope openings and hook&loop fields (not found on multicam variants).
