So if not for the inline optics you would still mount the laser at the 12?

Looking at your cheater gun it looks like it would be hard to activate the pressure pad with the light in the way like that. Not sharp shooting ya, just curious.

*EDIT*

On your daughters gun it looks possible to get your hand in there, like how I've got mine. Sorry, I've had too much glue today.

Yes I can activate it with either hand. I have to cant the rifle sometimes depending on the size of the light but that's fine. The distances in which I'm illuminating a target with white light mean that cant will not be a factor ballistically.

Roland I hate to sound like a fanboy but I respect your opinion. I'm this * * close to buying an optic (especially since I just filed taxes) and I keep coming back to the Vortex 1-6 for the features. Which reticle do you have and why?

Thanks,
Mate

Because as much as I like clowning on long gunners, I am one. I fucking hate sniping, but I have learned a thing or two about external ballistics and mil relation along the way. A mil is a mil. Those tic marks mean stuff. That reticle is not dependent upon a certain load or barrel length. Mils are just mils.....

For the average shooter, the new commercial vortex 1-6 with a BDC and a lifetime warranty is all the glass they will ever need. The best part is the scope retails under 400 bucks.

So if you don't profess to be Carlos Hathcock and don't mind shooting a little Kentucky windage if your BDC doesn't perfectly line up with your rifle and load.... I would save yourself 1K bucks and get the commercial model.

Im not very happy with the Inforce light. It has a lot of play when mounted anywhere on the rifle. I most likely go back to a x300 ultra. The TQ is held in place by a BFG TQ Now strap. The BFG strap is zip tied to the stock and does not really interfere with a cheek weld when shooting off side.
