Some interesting observations today.

The MRO after 88 days has a battery voltage of 1.98. Pretty slow drain on the battery compared to the T2 that is has been on for 6 days less but has less volts on the battery.
What's interesting is the MRO dot started flickering at 38 days (no voltage data available) and it's still flickering right now but a dot is still present. It's barely visible but still there.

To make sure it wasn't an isolated incident or failure of the MRO, I placed that same battery in 3 other MROs (brand new). All 3 have the same pulsating dot. I could try it out on the remaining 2 dozen + that I have but I think 4 is a decent sample size.
I took that same battery from the MRO and tried it in the Test Aimpoint T2 and the dot is perfectly crisp.

My conclusion is the MRO requires a higher voltage to run. Once it drops below a certain voltage the battery drain pretty much stops.
The Aimpoint seems to be able to run at a much lower voltage.

Trijicon MRO Update:

Starting volts: NA
Current volts: 1.98
Days elapsed: 111

Still pulsating dot. See video posted above

I am concluding this test since the optic is pretty much dead and unusable and there has been zero voltage drop in a long time. New MRO test will begin shortly.

It's pretty subjective and there's really no way to measure it but the Aimpoint T2 still has a decently bright dot. My guess is it's about as bright as setting 8 or 9.

The RMR stayed extremely bright right up till about 5 days before it died.

The MRO brightness dropped off pretty quickly.

Aimpoint T2 update.

Starting volts: NA
Current volts: 1.58
Days elapsed: 156

The voltage barely dropped since the last update but the dot is pretty much non-existent. It's very very faint and hard to see. I'm concluding the test on this one.

The PRO test had to be suspended. It turns out one of our employees accidentally shipped out the PRO that was being tested. I'll be starting another test again shortly.

My PRO lasted on #6 about 9 months.
That was the first battery. My second battery has been on #6 for 2 years now and still going.
It acted the same as my TLR-1 first set of batteries lasted about 3 months. I'm on 18 months on my second set of batteries.
As much as I appreciate the time and effort Ike is putting in here, I still think it's hit and miss on how long batteries will last.

I would love a reliable procedure for testing the auto shutoff RDSs. I have bad eyes so have been trying a variety of dot sights. Happy as can be now with the Mepro TruDot RDS so far but I would love to confirm their 2-years-on-hi battery life to be sure. Except it has a 10 minute shutoff. Reliably turns on /instantly/ when touched, but I have better things to do than poke a rifle or optic every 10 minutes for (up to) 2 years to check the battery life.

Anyone know of a cheap thing (that plugs in or has a long battery life) that would wobble them constantly, and is not too embarassing to order or have strapped to my carbine, also?
