Any photos of the completed work fitting the SRO into the 6354DO?
Hello. Hope this will help you. I m living in France.
Just few pictures to modify the safariland holster 6354DO for a glock 19 and sro trijicon
I used a Dremel a little saw and sand paper and for a nice finish I use the dremel to polish
You have to cut !the holster very slowly and to try many times step by step no to remove to much plastic
For the retention the same
For the hole of the sro I used a tube with the same diameter or little bit bigger than the sro. The tube ( horizontal) is in a vice. I just slowly put the holster on it to make the hole bigger and nice. I tried few times. No need to be too hot ( try and increase the temperature step by step until you see the plastic moving. ) cool down with air to keep the shape. You can do it few times until you succeed
I heat up the metal tube with a blowtorch or small gas flame ( 180 degrees almost like kydex)
I did two holsters like this and fit perfectly
Takes time but the result is perfect if you do it slowly
Best regards

Alright, here's my final hope at finding some answers that I need dearly.

I run a Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS with a Trijicon RMR, X300U, and a KKM bbl/comp combo. This is a little longer than a Glock 34. I'm wondering if I can modify the barrel plug or even remove it completely to accept the extra length on my 17. Worst case, I'll run the gun with a stock barrel or search around for another holster (thinking Veil Solutions Fett Duty Holster) but I would like to keep my setup as is while using a Safariland.

You need to remove the plug entirely and open the end of the holster enough to accommodate the wider muzzle end of the KKM comp. Simply heat, insert pistol, repeat until it's loose enough.

Can you show how much interectation you are getting with your front ledge and the breech? I did similar trimming to you and can no longer get the holster to lock.

Hey guys. I have a Polymer80 Glock 19 with a Brownells slide, and an RMR. Many reviews online and YouTube videos suggested the 6354DO would work with the Polymer80 so I decided I'd give it a shot! I also have an M&P 2.0 Full size, the 5" model, with a TLR-1. So then I came across this video:

So I thought "perfect!" Now, neither my P80 G19 nor my M&P have a comp, so I figured I would give the 6354DO for the G17 model a shot in hopes it would fit both. So I get it in, and sadly neither guns fit. The P80 seems like the RMR is getting in the way, and the M&P fits without the light, but when you put the light on, it won't go in more than 2" because it is too tight. It's almost like the gun + light is too tall and the light is pressuring up against the bottom of the kydex and binding.

Reluctant to modify it, I order a second 6354DO but for the G34. It comes in, same issues. So I have decided I need to modify one of them. I would have to modify the ALS system to get my P80 to fit, and heat it up to get more room for the M&P to fit with the light. Now I can't decide which one to keep/modify. I will probably return the other one if I can.

Way back at the beginning of this thread there was mention of an older gen 6354do that wasn't compatible with the RMR but then a gen 2 was announced that was supposed to work with the RMR. Why is it that so many people are still having issues with the RMR which in my opinion is the most used optic on hand guns? I also saw a reference to a 6354RDS which I had never heard of. I might have opted for that model had I known about it beforehand. Many sources online still claim the 6354DO to be GOAT for duty holsters.

Try it with an x300 and it should fit. I just tried it with a M2.0 with an x300 in a 6354DO for a G17 and it fit fine with no mods, TLR would not fit at all no matter what (it is however a non-rmr gun). Can you please test and report back if it fits your 5 inch with x300?

FWIW, I have a "new" generation DO holster - Glock 34 with light. Took minimal dremel tool action to make a G22 with Balor/T1 to work. All the cutting was for a chanel for the Aimpoints battery compartment nothing else. I tried fit with a TLR-HL and it wouldn't work, but the X300U's work just fine. So it seemed the DO holsters only work with the Surefire X300 family.

All,

I have a G17 with Brownells slide, Holosun 508T, X300U an arc division Sparc-M comp on an AAC threaded barrel.

I ordered a 6377rds holster for a G34 and X300U, and found that the bottom needed a bit of heat to adjust to fit the comp, and that the bottom screw (circled in red) and barrel plug needed to be removed to fit. With the bottom screw removed and a bit of heat now the gun fits perfect and ALS functions as it should.

The Question is, is that bottom screw essential? does it effect the structure of the holster if its removed?

Thanks!

I have a P229 with X300 light and I had the slide milled for a Trijicon RMR, right in front of the existing rear sight. Looks and shoots awesome.

But I really wanted a retention holster for it and Safariland seemed like the only place to get that, so I got a 7390 holster and am gonna take my dremel to it. It looks like it'll cut into part of the retention mechanism but from what I can see it won't affect function of it, it's back toward the rear sight area. As long as the retention still works I don't give a crap if it looks a little weird.

Does anyone know of anywhere else to get retention holsters that work with optics-fitted pistols? Don't matter if it's a big company or small shop doing custom work.

Anybody have any advice for lengthening a SLS hood to clear a RDS
Was thinking of moving the inserts higher on the holster to give extra space, but don't want to force remove them

At one point there were longer straps for the SLS series available. Not sure if that is still true or not.
