Forge Tactical, Night Precision Engagement, Jefferson City, Missouri

This is an advanced skills course that expands the sniper’s capabilities to include operations in no-light conditions. Precision riflemen will confirm data and engage targets to at least 800 yards during daylight operations, then transfer these skills to night operations to the maximum distance of their platform’s capability.

Procedures specific to no-light sniper operations are taught including observation, target identification and spotting, judging effects of weather, sniper team communication and applying shot corrections. Familiarization with equipment to support no-light sniper operations and conduct of sustainment training is emphasized. The opportunity for the student to evaluate new equipment offerings will be available as a result of industry support.

Prerequisites: Mil or SWAT Sniper, Advanced Precision Rifle or equivalent at Forge Tactical’s discretion

Equipment List:

  • Common Sense
  • Precision rifle and day optic
    • Bolt or semi-auto with integral rail or EFR for use with CNVD
    • .338LM maximum caliber
    • No AP or steel core ammo
    • Projectiles must be non-destructive for use on AR500 steel targets
  • 185 rounds match grade ammunition
  • Appropriate clip-on night vision device (CNVD)
  • Standard precision shooting equipment that you use:
    • Ballistic calculator (recommended)
    • Kestrel (recommended)
    • Blank range cards (recommended)
  • Bipod
  • Rear bag
  • Sling
  • Chemlites or battery powered personal identification device
  • Hand held light
  • Appropriate rifle maintenance equipment
  • Eye and ear pro
  • Water and snack food
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Pen and notebook
